  • Brunei is small. Coverage is good in the capital and along the coast. In the rainforest of Ulu Temburong National Park the signal is weak.
  • The Brunei dollar is pegged one-to-one to the Singapore dollar.
  • There is no separate Asia pack that includes Brunei — only Worldwide. For a trip through Malaysia and Brunei, compare the prices of standalone plans.

FAQ

Common questions about an eSIM for Brunei

Short answers to the questions that come up most often before you buy and install an eSIM.

How much does an eSIM for Brunei cost?

Plans for Brunei start at $2.99 — that is 500 MB for 1 day. A 10 GB plan for 30 days costs $31.24.

Which plan should I choose for a trip?

For a trip of a few days, 1–7 day packs are enough: for example, 1 GB for 7 days at $4.85. For two weeks or longer, 30-day packs are more convenient: 3 GB — $11.72, 10 GB — $31.24, 20 GB — $64.18.

When should I install the eSIM — before the trip to Brunei or after landing?

It is easier to install the eSIM at home, while you have Wi-Fi: the QR code arrives right after payment. Turn it on for mobile data once you are in Brunei. If a plan has a special rule for when the period starts, it is shown on the plan card.

Will I keep my number, WhatsApp and Telegram?

Yes. An eSIM only provides mobile data, and your main SIM stays in the phone: calls and SMS to your number keep coming in while it is enabled. Messengers keep the same account and number.

Can one eSIM be used in several countries?

Yes. Brunei is in the regional pack “Worldwide” (127 countries, from $8.25). One eSIM works in every country in the pack.

Will my phone work?

The phone must support eSIM and must not be locked to a carrier. Most iPhones from the XS on, Google Pixels and Samsung flagships support eSIM — check the settings for an “Add eSIM” item.

Can I share the internet from the eSIM?

That depends on the pack and the local network. Where sharing is supported, you can share data with a laptop or another phone — the terms are on the plan card.
